Make Kitchen A Safe Place For Your Kids
The American Dairy Association offers the following tips for keeping kids safe in the kitchen:
Spills should be wiped up promptly so kids don’t slip and fall.
Adults should make sure electrical cords don’t hang over counters or stove burners, and pot handles should not protrude over the stove edge.
Teach a healthy respect for the stove and burners.
Stress the importance of drying hands, especially before plugging in electrical appliances.
Put recipe ingredients, bowls and utensils in lower cabinets and drawers for easy access and to minimize climbing on tops of counters, chairs and step stools.
