R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., whose Winston brand is the sponsor of NASCAR’s top stock car series, announced it will add $500,000 to the 1995 season point fund, raising the total to $3.5 million.

The Winston Cup champion will get at least $75,000 of that, with the title payoff raised to $1.3 million.

Al Unser Jr., defending champion Mark Martin and Steve Kinser are the first three drivers named to compete in the 1995 International Race of Champions series. The IROC season will begin on Feb. 17 at Daytona International Speedway.
