Owners Decide Nothing

Facing hundreds of millions of dollars in losses this year because of the strike, baseball owners began three days of meetings no closer to a new economic system than they were 2 1/2 years ago.

Owners aren’t sure what proposal they want to make to players, when they want to make it, which lawyers they want to handle the negotiations or when they want enhanced revenue sharing to begin. They don’t know when they will decide.

The meetings lasted late into the night, with no major developments.
