Columbia Chronicles Petrified Forest

Ginkgo State Park at Vantage offers camping, swimming, and a boat ramp and dock. But the park is best known for its petrified forest, where trails lead past logs of ginkgo trees turned to stone., The interpretive center includes information about fossils, the process of petrification and local wildlife and plants.

The center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays; closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
