Idaho, Ewu Lose Starters For Year

Idaho star Montrell Williams and Eastern Washington quarterback Brian Sherick will miss the rest of the football season with knee injuries.

Williams, the nation’s leading kick returner and an outstanding defensive back, damaged the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Williams will be re-examined on Sunday and will have arthroscopic surgery once swelling in the knee diminishes.

Williams, a standout sprinter, could also miss the outdoor track season.

Sherick suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday’s 30-16 loss to Northern Arizona. His replacement has not been named.
