A Sizzling Jamboree Valley Jamboree Gives Teams A Hot Taste Of The Gridiron Before Start Of Season

During Friday’s second annual Valley Jamboree, local football teams got a literal baptism of fire.

Temperatures approached 90 degrees when, after two weeks of drills, the players got to hit someone else for a change. Coaches gleaned first-hand information about the readiness of their charges and determined what needed to be done this week to prepare for Friday’s season openers.

The jamboree format pits Greater Spokane League teams Central Valley, which hosted the competition, and University against Frontier League schools East Valley and West Valley. Each GSL team plays a quarter against the Frontier teams in a dry run for the regular season.

The jamboree was also a preview of a scheduled game between CV and EV nine weeks from now.
