Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: I once read an article in your column about using regular sheets on a water bed instead of buying water bed sheets. Could you please reprint it? - Ruth L., Virginia
I sure can. Many readers have suggested using regular king- or full-sized flat sheets for a queen-size water bed that is in a frame. There should be plenty of fabric hanging on each side to tuck under.
Regular sheets can be a lot cheaper than buying special water bed sheets and they should really work just as well. - Heloise
Dear Heloise: I do lots of arts and crafts and use my hot glue gun a lot. Whenever I am using the hot melt glue, I keep a bowl filled with ice water right beside me. If I accidentally get some of the glue on my fingers, I quickly plunge them into the water. This keeps the glue from burning my skin so severely. - A Reader, Omaha, Neb.
