Analysis

If we’re to believe the tenor of articles out of Seattle in recent weeks, today likely is the last NFL game in the Kingdome and possibly the last in Seattle.

Think about it: no more Efren Herrera fake field goals, no more Zorn-to-Largent, no more Dan Doornink third-down catches. No more Dave Krieg fumbles, no more classy Eugene Robinsons and Joe Nashs, no more Joey Galloway-doing-Michael-Johnson impressions. No more waves, no more Bill the Beerman-led cheers.

That is truly sad.

You may not think much about the Seahawks these days, given their oft-porous play, but it’s better to watch bad pro football in Seattle than no pro football in Seattle.

Analyzing this game seems silly when the franchise is busy reaching a new high point for turmoil as stadium issues and politicians infiltrate the headlines.

Seattle, which waved bye-bye to the playoffs last week, likely will have to deal with Buffalo’s Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas - both missed last week’s game - and another marginally close loss. And, perhaps, a much greater loss down the road.
