Ring Loss To Be Appealed
USA Boxing will appeal Roy Jones Jr.’s controversial 1988 Olympic loss in Seoul based on reports in a new book that judges took bribes to favor South Koreans.
“The bottom line is if there is another avenue … to reclaim that (gold) medal, USA Boxing will do anything in its power to do so,” said Jerry Dusenberry, the federation’s president, who will appeal to the International Olympic Committee.
British journalist Andrew Jennings says a document from the files of the former East German secret police Stasi describes payoffs to judges.
