Cda Crews Will Trim Troublesome Trees

Compiled From Wire Services

City crews next week will trim low-hanging branches from trees that have been damaging city equipment.

The crews will trim only trees in the city’s right-of-way and only trees that have been causing problems for city crews. Snow plowing, sanding and street-sweeping equipment have been damaged repeatedly by low-hanging branches, city officials said.

Tree trimming - even for trees in the city right-of-way - normally is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. The city is making an exception because of the number of problems and decided to move on the problems before warmer-weather projects begin.
