Cable television company Comcast Corp. confirmed that is negotiating a bid to buy the Philadelphia’s 18,000-seat CoreStates Spectrum and the $210 million 21,000-seat CoreStates Center, scheduled to open this summer, along with the 76ers and Flyers.

A successful completion would result in one of the richest megadeals in sports history, but the Philadelphia-based cable firm says no agreement has been reached.

An investigation began Friday into the death of 10 horses during the three-day National Hunt Festival at Cheltenham, England, this week.

Four horses died during Tuesday’s races, two on Wednesday and four more on Thursday. Among the fatalities was Monsier Le Cure, who fell and broke his neck at the sixth fence of Thursday’s prestigious Gold Cup.
