Spokane Splits Softball Doubleheader

Peggy Palmer’s two-run double in the first inning Friday helped Community Colleges of Spokane to a 4-1 win over visiting Highline CC and a split of their NWAACC softball doubleheader.

Highline won the opener 9-3 as Genessa Olson and Kristen Brown fueled a six-run seventh with run-scoring singles.

The Sasquatch, playing at Spokane Falls CC, cruised in the nightcap, as Traci Moore’s RBI single in the first and Barb Cossette’s RBI single in the fourth added insurance after Palmer’s double. Highline’s Debi Butler ended the shutout with a sixth-inning RBI single.
