Bomb Explodes In French City Hall
Authorities suspect Corsican separatists in a late-night bomb that tore through city hall hours after the mayor - Premier Alain Juppe - had left for Paris, a TV station reported Sunday.
No injuries were reported in the blast, which occurred shortly before midnight Saturday. It damaged the ground floor reception hall and surrounding rooms and broke windows on all three levels of the 18th-century building.
Corsican nationalist groups have waged a violent campaign for independence for the French Mediterranean island, but mostly have restricted their attacks to the island itself.
