Enjoy Classical Music With Lunch

Lunch ‘n Learn, a new series sponsored by the Spokane Symphony and the Spokane Public Library, introduces listeners to the world of classical music while dining on lunch.

The series kicks off today with Kelly Farris, Spokane Symphony concertmaster and violinist. Farris will explain the difference between a fiddle and a Stradivarius and solve other musical mysteries.

Other musicians scheduled to participate in the series include Jung-Ho Pa, the symphony’s new associate conductor, on Oct. 16; Farris, cellist John Marshall and pianist Aida Ribeiro Mechetti on Oct. 30; guitarist Leon Atkinson on Jan. 8; trumpet player Allen Vizzutti on Feb. 12, and baritone Frank Hernandez on March 26.

All presentations are free and will be held at noon at the downtown Spokane Public Library, 906 W. Main, in Meeting Room 1A.

Beverages will be provided. A sandwich from Bickel’s Cafe will be provided for $3 if requested in advance.
