Freshman quarterback Travis Brown set a school record and tied a Big Sky Conference record with seven touchdown passes, and Archie Amerson rushed for 211 yards Saturday night as Northern Arizona defeated Sacramento State 51-32.
Brown completed 22 of 32 passes for a career-best 383 yards for the seventh-ranked Lumberjacks (7-1, 4-0 Big Sky).

At Northridge, Calif., Rod Compson and Kenyatte Morgan hooked up on an 80-yard touchdown pass with 8:57 remaining to lift the Bobcats over the Matadors.
Northridge had tied the game less than a minute earlier on a 17-yard scoring run by Aaron Flowers.
Compson completed 15 of 27 for 263 yards for Montana State (3-3, 2-2 Big Sky), and Morgan accounted for 101 yards on three receptions.

At Portland, free safety Scott Shields kicked four field goals and intercepted a season-high three passes as Wildcats built a 20-3 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Vikings. Shields, a 6-foot-4 sophomore, had field goals of 28, 23, 37 and 44 yards for the Wildcats (4-3) who broke a three-game losing streak. He missed field goals of 54 and 44 yards.
