Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: I have three great hints that I want to share with you.

When using an electric can opener, always leave the lid stuck to the can opener until you empty the contents of the can. Then put the can back under the lid, drop it into the can and push the lid into the can to avoid injury.

When working in your yard, always wear light-colored clothes. This way you can see anything that may be crawling on you. I always tuck my pants cuffs in my socks to keep insects out. I also wear a cap (vent, net-type) which can be used as a swatter for insects.

When a doctor gives you an appointment card, always pin it to the month of your calendar and you won’t forget. - Johnnie Propst, Hickory, N.C.
