Abc Inks ‘Nypd’ For Two Years
ABC has renewed “NYPD Blue,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and “Spin City.”
“NYPD Blue” has been renewed for two more seasons, taking it through the end of the century. The three sitcoms each have received 22-episode orders for next season.
“This two-year pickup is testimony not only to our belief in the Steven Bochco series but our commitment to its stellar cast and top-notch production team,” ABC executive Jamie Tarses said Monday.
The series is ABC’s highest-rated drama series and consistently wins its 10 p.m. Tuesday time slot. “Spin City” consistently wins its time slot, and “The Drew Carey Show” is this season’s sophomore success story.
“Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” is ABC’s highest-rated TGIF sitcom, winning its 9 p.m. Friday half-hour.
