Only once in a century does someone roll 36 straight strikes in a three-game series of bowling. And Jeremy Sonnenfeld has the gold ring to prove it.

The American Bowling Conference, the sport’s sanctioning body, searched 101 years’ worth of records to find a feat like Sonnenfeld’s, but there wasn’t one. To mark the first, it presented the 20-year-old University of Nebraska student from Sioux Falls, S.D., with a 14-karat “900” ring, set with a diamond and a blue stone.
