Martie Zad The Washington Post

New children’s videos worth noting, just in time for vacation trips and school breaks for summer:

“Wishbone: Hercules Unleashed” and “Wishbone: A Tail in Twain” were released last week. The Hercules video, running about 35 minutes, is based on the myth of Hercules and the Golden Apples and contains some footage not contained in the TV episode. The “Tail in Twain” video, a two-episode story on television, has a running time of 60 minutes.

They list for $14.95 each.

Scholastic’s “The Magic School Bus” series has three new titles ($12.95 each): “The Busasaurus,” about dinosaurs; “Taking Flight,” about flying; and “Flexes Its Muscles,” about a robot.

A musical, “Include Us,” explores the lives of disabled children while promoting acceptance, inclusion, understanding, self-esteem and fun (33 mins., $14.95, 1-888-462-5833).

From the Barney series for ages 1 to 8 comes “Barney’s Colors and Shapes,” a two-tape set ($19.95, 30 minutes each). From Lyrick Studios comes the rerelease of a couple of award-winning videos, “Joe Scruggs: Live From Deep in the Jungle” (51 mins.) and “Joe Scruggs: Joe TV” (31 mins.), $14.95 each.
