A Paddle Fair, featuring on-the-water opportunities to try a variety of canoes and kayaks, is set for Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Liberty Lake County Park.

The fair, sponsored by Mountain Gear, features reps from Perception, Mad River, Pacific Water Sports, Current Designs, Wenonah and Dagger with about 100 boats. Arrangements will be made for experienced whitewater kayakers to try high-performance boats on the upper Spokane River, said Bob Clark, fair organizer.

Mountain Gear has a long schedule of canoeing and kayaking clinics and demonstrations that runs through August. Featured among them is the Sea Kayak Workshop, May 31-June 1, with Lee Moyer of Pacific Water Sports. Info: 325-9000. , DataTimes
