Hall Keeps Wv In Hunt
Tyler Hall’s seventh consecutive win Tuesday advanced West Valley within one game of the Region IV-AA baseball tournament.
Hall pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out five, as the Eagles (12-7) topped East Valley 7-0 during the opening day of the District 7-AA tournament at WV.
Jason Brown hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a solo shot in the sixth for WV. Brown has three homers in his last two games.
WV won its seventh straight and is 4-0 against EV (10-10). The Eagles have won 10 of their last 12 games.
EV, which opened the day with a 15-8 win over Colville (10-9), meets the Indians again Saturday in a loser-out game at WV. The winner must beat WV later Saturday, then again Tuesday at Cheney, to qualify for region. Frontier League champ Cheney (14-4) plays for seeding to region Tuesday.
In EV’s win, Joe Furgason started two rallies with singles and Bill Tincup had a three-run homer in the third.
Colville and EV have played three times in the last four days.

WV’s Darcy Sohns struck out eight. The other runs scored on wild pitches.
