Hot Pockets Unimpressive
Generally speaking, pizza snacks are to pizza what french fries are to scalloped potatoes deep-fried, and even fattier.
The Hot Pockets people have cut the cholesterol with their frozen pizza snacks, baked instead of fried, which we served to The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel.
The crispy crust was OK, but the petite pockets had considerably less filling than pictured on the package - and it tends to leak out the ends if you leave them in the oven a little too long (as we accidentally discovered).
So if you’re really trying to trim calories, just bake them until they’re empty.
