Inmates Dies From Beating

An inmate who was severely beaten at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution died from head injuries Friday, Department of Correction officials said.

John Alfred Williams, 38, died at 7:11 p.m., in Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Williams was serving a four-year sentence for two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. He was scheduled to be released May 30.
