Farmer’S Markets

Produce expected to be available this week at area farmer’s markets (shop early for best selection):

Spokane MarketPlace (Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., First and Jefferson downtown): Various lettuces (including bibb, butter crunch and oak leaf), salad mix, assorted herbs (available cut to order), radishes, green onions, snow peas, string beans (green, purple, yellow), cucumbers, spinach, garlic, mushrooms, mustard greens, bok choy, chard, red and blue curly kale, leeks, assorted peppers (bell, sweet and hot), tomatoes (including Roma), eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes (12 varieties), kohlrabi, carrots, red beets, broccoli, sweet corn, edible flowers, honey, peaches, plums (red and Chinese yellow), watermelon, cantaloupe, muskmelon, peaches, nectarines, blackberries.

Kootenai County Farmer’s Market (Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene): Zucchini/summer squash, onions (sweet and green), leeks, carrots, various lettuces and salad mixes, cabbage, chard, bok choy, endive, fennel bulbs, assorted snap beans, bell peppers, hot peppers, beets, garlic, shallots, celery, cucumbers (pickling and slicing), radishes, eggplant, cauliflower, broccoli, parsnips, rutabaga, assorted potatoes, tomatoes (including cherry), tomatillos, corn, blueberries, peaches, plums, apricots, cooking apples.

Sandpoint Farmer’s Market (Wednesdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, at Farmin Park, Third and Main): Beans (green, gold, purple, Romano, Miralda), various lettuces, salad mix, green onions, garlic, assorted herbs, edible flowers, new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, various cucumbers (slicing, pickling, lemon), cabbage, green peppers, eggplant, summer squash, carrots, turnips, tomatoes (including cherry), corn, plums, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and huckleberries.
