Pine Cove Subdivision Before Panel
Anyone interested in a remote lot on Lake Pend Oreille may have more to choose from if the Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission approves a zone change in Lakeview, Idaho.
Jack and Darla Finney want to divide their 15-acre parcel in Pine Cove into 10 to 12 lots.
“I thought I’d sell a few, maybe,” Jack Finney said of his plans. The property is at the site of the old Pine Cove Lodge, which the Finneys have remodeled for a family getaway.
The Finneys have no plans to develop the site for commercial purposes, although the recreational zoning they’re requesting would allow them to do so.
They also said their plans would not alter the neighboring property owners’ access to the 3 acres of beach, which are common beaches through easements.
Pine Cove is accessible by boat or by 25 miles of primitive forest road in the summer.
The commission will hear the Finneys’ request at 8 p.m. today in the Bonner County Courthouse.
In other business, the commission will consider a conditional use permit for a Cellular One cell phone tower at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, a variance for a building setback on Priest Lake, and another variance from lot size minimums on the Workman’s property southeast of Oldtown.
