Silver Valley Students Receive College Scholarships

Silver Valley college students have received Morris George and Jack Foster scholarships:

Ian Cotter, North Idaho College; Brenda Ludwick, University of Idaho; and Owen Cotter, Eastern Washington University.

Local students were recently named as recipients of the first Attorney General’s Scholarships made available by settlement money from price-fixing lawsuits against agricultural chemical manufacturers.

Incoming freshman who participated in 4-H or FFA and can show a need for financial assistance were eligible for the $750 one-year scholarship.

A portion of the settlement money was used to create scholarship endowment funds at each of Idaho’s seven state-funded colleges and universities. Recipients include:

Tina Schlepp, a Boise State University Student and graduate of Kootenai High School; Leslie Wood, a Sandpoint High School graduate and University of Idaho student; Jeri Huber, a Lakeland High School graduate and North Idaho College student; and Sara Valentine, a Priest River-Lamanna High School graduate and freshman at NIC.

Britton Warren, of Moscow, recently received a $1,000 Spokane Transportation Club Scholarship and will be attending the University of Idaho.

Lake City High School graduating seniors were recently honored at an awards ceremony. Recipients and their awards include:
