An 18-year-old Rathdrum man received minor injuries Tuesday when the car he was driving was hit by a railroad maintenance car.

The Idaho State Police said Kyle J. Miller was headed north on McCartney Street when he was hit by a railroad vehicle as he crossed the railroad tracks. He was taken to Kootenai Medical Center where he was treated and released.

A traffic flagger was working at the crossing when the 10:44 a.m. accident occurred, the ISP said. Miller told officers he did not see the railroad car approach from the west.

Miller’s 1984 Chevrolet Camaro was hit on the passenger side. No one else was injured.
