Gene Donahoe Spokane

Vigil service for Gene Donahoe, 65, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 55-year Spokane resident, Mr. Donahoe died Friday. He was born in Tekoa, Wash.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1951 and served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Donahoe worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Bears Co., and B & B Distributors.

In 1982 he started Gene’s Northside Pools and Service.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Teamster Local 690.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; a son Scott Donahoe of Puyallup, Wash.; a daughter Michelle Holmes of Spokane; two stepsons, Scott and Kirk Smith, both of Spokane; a stepdaughter Diannia Percy of Seattle; four brothers Jerry, Bob and Mike Donahoe, all of Spokane and Dan Donahoe of Lewiston, Idaho; two sisters Rosie Vill and Betty Timmerman, both of Spokane; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Building Fund.

Wayne Fox Priest River, Idaho

Graveside service for Wayne Lucian Fox, 67, will be at 10 a.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the New Testament Church in Oldtown, Idaho. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fox, who was born in Kalispell, Mont., died Saturday.

He worked in the logging and construction business, working as the assistant cement finisher in the construction of the Libby (Mont.) Dam and the Hungry Horse Dam.

Mr. Fox later worked for the Montana Highway Department and worked on a ranch near Great Falls, Mont. He also helped at the Dayton Foundry in California as a longshoreman.

In 1979 he moved to Priest River and in 1993 he married Ida Knotts.

He was a member of the New Testament Church in Oldtown.

His first wife, Gwen, died in 1991.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Richard Little, Monte and Donald Fox, and Bob Monroe; three daughters, Margaret Campbell, Cynthia Smith and Gail Burlison; three stepsons, Leland Knotts, Jim and John Alefteras; three stepdaughters, Inez Oscarson, Carol Stone and Jean Alefteras; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phil Henderson Davenport, Wash.

Private graveside service for Phil S. Henderson, 93, will be held at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church in Davenport. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henderson, who was born in Hunter N.D., died Sunday.

In 1928 he moved to Davenport and married his wife, Violet.

Mr. Henderson worked as a self-employed laborer for many years and was a member of the Davenport Assembly of God Church.

His wife died in 1994.

Survivors include three sons, Lyle Henderson of Spokane, Robert Henderson of Salt Lake City and Donald Henderson of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Fruitland (Wash.) Bible Camp.

Joseph Miranda Spokane

Funeral Mass for Joseph Miranda, 93, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Miranda, who died Friday, was born in Lewiston, Idaho.

He moved to Spokane in 1943 from Lewiston and owned and operated his own grocery store until 1958.

Mr. Miranda worked as a bookkeeper at URM Stores, Inc., and retired in 1976.

His wife of 46 years, Grace, died in 1978.

Survivors include a son, James Miranda of Pleasanton, Calif., two sisters, Loretta Gangi of Seattle and Rose Leonetti of Beaverton, Ore.; a brother, Albert Miranda of Seattle; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Leo Renshaw Spokane

Graveside service for Leo Renshaw, 71, will be at 11 a.m today at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Deer Park, Mr. Renshaw died Saturday.

He served in the Army during World War II and was later employed by Deer Park Pine Industries for many years.

Mr. Renshaw recently moved to Spokane.

He is survived by two sisters, Pearl Reidt and Hazel Koch, both of Deer Park.

Edgar LeVan Spokane

Funeral for Edgar F. LeVan, a longtime Spokane resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. LeVan, who was born in Great Falls, Mont., died Sunday. He was 79.

He served in the Navy during World War II and later worked as a truck driver.

Mr. LeVan was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include a son, David LeVan of Tacoma; two daughters, Gloria Eccleston of Spokane and Frances Fox of Parkville, Mo.; two brothers, Mike Fisher of Spokane and Earl LeVan of California; a sister, Lois Baever of Kent, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Shirley Gordon Post Falls

Viewing for Shirley J. Gordon, 60, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Service will be held at noon Thursday in Renton, Wash.

Mrs. Gordon, who was born in Minnesota, died Monday.

She grew up and attended schools in the Coeur d’Alene and Hayden, Idaho, areas and later moved to Renton and worked as a quality assurance inspector at Boeing, retiring after 15 years of service.

She moved to Post Falls five years ago from Renton.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, Timothy Evans of Renton and David Evans of Auburn, Wash.; a daughter, Debbie Ronquille of Liberty Lake; two stepsons, James Gordon of Arizona and Charlie Gordon of Seattle; a stepdaughter, Danne Broach of Seattle; her mother, Gladys Nelson; two brothers, Donald Nelson of Stanwood, Wash., and Leroy Nelson of Seattle; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gladys Reid Walla Walla

Visitation for Gladys Iris Reid, 94, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wayside International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Reid was born on her family’s homestead in Blanchard Valley, north of Spokane. She died Sunday.

In 1941 she moved to Mead and worked for the Broadview Dairy and The Crescent department store for several years. She also owned and operated Reid’s Grocery Store during World War II.

Mrs. Reid moved to Walla Walla in 1984.

She was a 57-year member of the Rebekkah Lodge, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Mead Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Johnson of Spokane; a brother, Basil Mason of Spokane; three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arthur Jahns Greenacres

Visitation for Arthur R. Jahns, 91, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for noon Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Jahns, who was born in Rockford died Monday.

In 1942 he married Frances Crowder. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 20 years.

Mr. Jahns had been a resident of Greenacres for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Jahns of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Chester Jahns of Rockford; two sisters, Minnie Slinkard of Plummer, Idaho and Angeline McNearney of Sandpoint; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Beulah Alexander Spokane

Memorial service for Beulah D. Alexander, 93, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

A 70-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Alexander died Monday. She was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, the Order of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer with the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Monger; four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

David Zelinski Sandpoint

Graveside service for David Jonathan Zelinski, 26, was Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Zelinski, who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, died Saturday when his bicycle was hit by a dump truck in Sandpoint.

He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1990 and then served with the Army in Germany and Kuwait.

Mr. Zelinski returned to the Sandpoint area after his military service and worked as a bicycle technician, repairing, building and racing performance bicycles.

He had worked in bike shops in Idaho Falls, Moab, Utah, and Sandpoint.

Survivors include his mother and father, Betty Dunlap of Sandpoint, and Elmer Zelinski of Yakima; a brother, Timothy Zelinski of Prosser, Wash.; two sisters, Linda Paschke of Coeur d’Alene and Ann LaPanne of Yakima; two stepsisters, Tammy Howard of Woodinville, Wash., and Melissa Hennaing of Redmond, Wash.; and his ex-wife, Dove Braunstein of Trestle Creek, Idaho.

Melvin Stickelmeyer Spokane

Visitation for Melvin J. Stickelmeyer, 68, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Stickelmeyer, who was born in Carrington, N.D., died Sunday.

He had lived in Spokane since 1937. He served in the Navy on board the aircraft carrier Valley Forge during the Korean War.

Mr. Stickelmeyer studied sheetmetal work at the Spokane Trade School and later worked for Carlson Sheetmetal Co.

In 1948 he began working for Warren, Little and Lund Mechanical Contractors, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Stickelmeyer was a 45-year member of the Sheetmetal Workers Local 212, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474, Eagles Lodge No. 2, and an 18-year member of Hillyard Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nellie; two sons, Jeff and Brad Stickelmeyer, both of Spokane; a daughter, Julie Kerr of Spokane; two brothers, Wallace Stickelmeyer of Spokane and Jacob Stickelmeyer of Wallace, Idaho; four sisters, Darlene Humphrey and Vyonda Cunningham, both of Spokane, Charlotte Olmstead of Valley, Wash., and Peggy Jack of Elk; and seven grandchildren.

Johanna Waagenaar Spokane

Memorial service for Johanna W. Waagenaar, 78, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Waagenaar, who was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, died Sunday.

She was a homemaker and a 31-year resident of Spokane.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Henry; a son, Peter Waagenaar of Spokane; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Donald McMath Mead

Memorial service for Donald E. McMath, 64, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. McMath died Monday.

He graduated from Rogers High School and served in the Army in Germany.

In 1957 he married Viona Feryn and worked for the City of Spokane water department for several years.

Mr. McMath went on to earn his master’s degree from Whitworth College and joined the Spokane Police Department, retiring as a police detective after 24 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce McMath of Mead and Michael McMath of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Debra Barton of Spokane; a brother, Douglas McMath of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Donald Cramp Spokane

Memorial service for Donald A. Cramp, 34, was last Thursday at the Jesuit House Chapel. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Cramp, who was born in Hartford, Conn., died Oct. 27.

He worked as a auto mechanic.

Mr. Cramp was a diabetic who had been on kidney dialysis for the past three years.

Survivors include his wife, Suphaphon Srikutkao; two daughters, Brianna and Chelsea Cramp, both of Spokane; his mother, Sandy Strump of Ford, Wash., a brother, Scott Cramp of Seattle; two sisters, Lauri Warrington of Spokane and Lynne Kauffman of Post Falls.
