Rifle Ranges Open

Big-game hunting

The Spokane Rifle Club once again is opening its ranges to non-members who need to sight in their rifles for the upcoming big-game hunting seasons.

“Being sure your firearm is zeroed in could save you a lot of disappointment,” said club spokesman Tom Higgins. “It’s also an ethical responsibility.”

The club will open its ranges through Oct. 16 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Non-members are invited daily during that time, except on Mondays and Tuesdays, when the ranges will be reserved for members.

Cost for using the ranges is $6 for one hunter with one rifle or $8 for one hunter with two rifles.

The club will provide the benches, targets and spotting scopes on the 100-yard and 50-yard ranges, Higgins said. Assistance also will be available if needed.

On Fridays and Saturdays, the club will allow non-members to use other facilities, such as the outdoor handgun range and the 200-yard rifle range, Higgins said. The trap range will be available on Saturdays. Cost for using the other facilities is $10.
