Two public drinking water systems in Kootenai County and one in Benewah County have violated state rules by failing to test their water for bacteria.

The Parkview Water Association, Bitterroot Water Co. and Fernwood Water District failed to notify their customers within 90 days that tests for coliform bacteria were not conducted, according to the Department of Environmental Quality.

DEQ has not received any reports of bacterial contamination or illness.
