Farmers’ Markets

Produce expected to be available this week at area farmers’ markets (depending on weather; shop early for best selection):

Spokane Marketplace (Wednesday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Desmet and Ruby): peaches, apricots, cherries, Walla Walla sweet onions (regular and organic), carrots, strawberries, snow peas, bok choy, dried organic fruits and vegetables, spring greens, salad mix, radishes, turnips, green onions, herbs, sprouts, mustard greens, baby beets, English cucumbers, green beans, edible flowers and apples.

The New Farmers’ Market (Wednesday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., First Covenant Church parking lot at Second and Division in Spokane): No report.

Kootenai County Farmers’ Market (Wednesday 5 to 7:30 p.m. (limited variety), Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene): strawberries, new potatoes, cabbage (red, green, Chinese), broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots, beets, kohlrabi, spicy greens mix, lettuce mix, radishes, lettuce (romaine, butter, green leaf, endive, red leaf), kale, collard greens, hothouse tomatoes, endive, Swiss chard, zucchini, green onions, mustard greens, rutabaga, fresh cut herbs, arugula, edible flowers, sugar peas, snow peas.

Farmers’ Market at Sandpoint (Wednesday 3 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to noon, at Farmin Park, Third and Main): raspberries, beans, beets, kale, kohlrabi, watercress, turnips, spinach, bok choy, cauliflower, broccoli, snow peas, sugar snap peas, onions, radishes, mustard greens, strawberries, cabbage (Chinese and regular), lettuce, salad mix, garlic greens, baby new potatoes, rhubarb, carrots, edible flowers, assorted fresh herbs.
