High-Tech Classroom Opens To The Public

From Staff Reports

Sandpoint High School is inviting the public to visit its new high-tech classroom during an open house at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Sandpoint High is one of 15 schools in the state to receive money to install a state-of-the-art classroom from the J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation’s Teaching with Technology program.

Other sites in North Idaho are Fernan Elementary in Coeur d’Alene and Camelot Elementary in Lewiston.

The open house will feature demonstrations of Smart Boards, video-conferencing systems, and other elements of the latest in technology teaching tools.

The classrooms will be used this summer to teach more than 900 teachers statewide in weeklong sessions on how to incorporate technology into their lesson plans. During the school year, the classrooms are available for students.
