Keith Goullette Sr. Dover, Idaho

Service for Keith E. Goullette Sr., 83, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Goullette, who was born in Kootenai, Idaho, died Saturday.

He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1933 and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp on the North Fork of the Clearwater River.

Mr. Goulette graduated from the National Youth Administration Vocational School in Weiser, Idaho, in 1940, where he studied agricultural husbandry. He also worked on Grand Coulee Dam for two years.

He returned to the Sandpoint area and worked at Brown Lumber Co. in Dover. He served with the Army as a Master Sergeant in the Transportation Corp during World War II.

Mr. Goullette married Dorothy Martinez in 1945 and became a dairy farmer in Sandpoint in 1947. He also worked as a planer at various area mills before retiring in 1980.

He wife died in 1970.

He married Jean Tucker in 1976 and they settled in Dover.

Mr. Goullette was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Selle Grange and the Good Sams Club.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Keith and James Goullette, and Judy Maphis, all of Sandpoint; three stepchildren, Dale Tucker, Gail Bishop and Neil Tucker, all of Sandpoint; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Ray Whitlow Spokane

Memorial service for Ray L. Whitlow, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Manito United Methodist Church. Columbia Memorial Chapel in Pasco is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Whitlow, who was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., died Saturday.

In 1939 he moved with his family from Sioux Falls to Hood River, Ore., ande entered the Army in 1943. He served two years in the infantry in Europe.

He married Corrine Dreibelbis in 1950.

In 1963 he graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Ore., with a bachelor’s degree and moved to New Jersey, where he graduated from Drew Theological Seminary with a bachelor’s of divinity.

Mr. Whitlow served for 23 years for several United Methodist churches, including the church in Orofino, Idaho, and Goldendale, Cashmere, and Raymond Wash. He retired in 1988.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Michael and Dana Whitlow, both of Spokane; a daughter, Susan Poch of Pullman; a brother, Gordon Whitlow of Milwaukie, Ore.; three sisters, Louise Anderson of Sacramento, Calif., and Ruth Dixon and Virginia Wyatt, both of Portland; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Manito United Methodist Church.

Nona Blair Missoula

No service will be held for Nona Blair, 79, at her request. Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blair, who was born in Kalispell, Mont., died Wednesday.

She spent many years in Spokane, where she worked until her retirement.

Mrs. Blair was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school.

She served as a Girl Scout leader for 10 years and was a Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel 7.

Mrs. Blair moved to Missoula in 1987.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond; a daughter, Georgiana Graf of Missoula; a brother, Arthur Kirkpatrick of Tigard, Ore.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missoula Humane Society.

Hank Roseth Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Hank Roseth, 71, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Private burial will be held in Missoula.

Mr. Roseth, who was born in Conde, S.D., died Friday.

He attended Montana State University.

Mr. Roseth married Audrey McElveny in 1948 and lived in Missoula, where he began a career as a salesman in the paper packaging industry.

He later became a corporate sales manager in Montana and California. He moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho, in 1972.

Mr. Roseth founded Mastercraft Packaging Corp. based in Fresno, Calif., in 1983 and became business partners with his son, Steve, in 1987. He retired in 1997.

He was a member of the Avondale Golf Course and the Coeur d’Alene Library Board.

Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years; a son, Steve Roseth of California; a sister, Winnie Zeller of Missoula; and one grandson, Jeffrey.

Roy Grove Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Roy Albert Grove, 80, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.

Mr. Grove, who was born in Caldwell, Idaho, died Saturday.

He grew up and attended schools in Meridian, Idaho, and attended college in Caldwell. After college he farmed in the Caldwell area.

Mr. Grove married Virginia Bernasconi in 1938 and moved to Naples, Idaho, in 1950.

He moved to Bonners Ferry in 1960 and worked as a city police officer for 13 years and also served as a Boundary County Commissioner from 1971 unitl retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years; a daughter, Barbara Martz of Moyie Springs, Idaho; two sons, Ronald Grove of Post Falls and Alan Grove of Spokane; a brother, Glen Grove of Naples; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pearl Stolk Spokane

Graveside service for Pearl J. Stolk, 80, will be at 11 a.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stolk, who was born in South Dakota, died Monday.

She had been a certified nurses assistant for more than 20 years, working at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, Calif., and the Good Samaritan Village in Greenacres. She retired in 1981.

Mrs. Stolk moved to Spokane from Santa Ana, Calif., in 1978, and was a member of the Valley Open Bible Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Schmitz of Priest River, Idaho, and David Schmitz of Florence, Ariz.; two sisters, Ethel Mead of Spokane and Nettie Murphree of Moorecroft, Wyo.; a brother, Ward Hayden of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Jean Gunderson Spokane

Funeral Mass for Jean L. Gunderson will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otis Orchards. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Trentwood. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gunderson, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Sunday. She was 68.

She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otis Orchards.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Virgil; a son, Matthew Gunderson of Liberty Lake; a daughter, Linda Juliano of Spokane; a brother, Cecil Eller; two sisters, Pat Endicott and Winnie Sundseth; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Donald White St. Maries

Graveside service for Donald E. White, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements. The Cremation Society is also in charge.

Mr. White, a 60-year St. Maries resident, died June 16. He was born in Spokane, and grew up and attended schools in St. Maries.

Mr. White served in both the Navy and the Air Force, and retired from the Air Force after 23 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. White was a member of the St. Maries Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He married his wife, Ruth, in 1977.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Andrea Brown and Catherine White, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Robert Marzulli of St. Maries; a sister, Judy Roberts of Walla Walla; and three grandchildren.

Florence Kenney Spokane

Funeral for Florence A. Kenney, a longtime Spokane resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westside Church of the Nazarene. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Kenney, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday. She was 93.

She graduated from North Central High School and then from Cheney Normal School, now Eastern Washington University.

Miss Kenney retired after many years as an elementary school teacher and began her second profession as a nurses’ aide.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Long and Beth Roberts, both of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Florence Kenney Memorial Fund at the Westside Church of the Nazarene.

Fred Peterson Spokane

No service will be held for Fred Nels Peterson, 76, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 13-year Spokane resident, Mr. Peterson died Thursday. He was born in White Horse, N.J.

He worked as an electrician in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Mr. Peterson was known for his handmade bird and squirrel feeders, and bat boxes.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Rowene; his stepchildren, Catherine and Mark Miller, and David Kosek, all of Spokane, Patrick Miller of Sacramento, Calif., Dennis Miller of Mossyrock, Wash., Dale Miller of Portland, Jonathan Miller of Tacoma and Kevin Miller of Elk; and four stepgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Dorothy (Hamaker) Chambers Spokane

Funeral for Dorothy (Hamaker) Chambers, 85, will be at 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Chambers, who died Saturday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Sunrise Church of Christ and the Sorelle Club.

Her husband, Donald, died in 1977.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Kampster of Spokane; two sisters, Marjorie Dakin of Spokane and Alice Anderson of Portland; and two grandchildren.

Shirley Pedey Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Shirley Roberta Pedey, 64, was held Saturday at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pedey, who was born in Hugo, Colo., died June 15.

She moved to Copeland, Idaho, in 1936 and attended school in Boundary County. She married Ike Hawks in 1953. He died in 1956.

Mrs. Pedey married Dick Pedey in 1958 and lived in the Bonners Ferry area.

He died in 1996.

Survivors include seven children, Monte Hawks and Rhonda Damon, both of Riggins, Idaho, Steven Hawks and Tracie Bennett, both of Bonners Ferry, Shannon Zipfel of Spokane, Shelley Munson of Sandpoint and Toni Schmidt of Creston, British Columbia; her mother, Mary Grunerud of Bonners Ferry; three sisters, Jerre Stemmene of Bonners Ferry, Frances Dunn of Kellogg and Vicki Reiber of British Columbia; a brother, Jack Snodgrass of Everett; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Earle Ruddach Newport, Wash.

Funeral for Earle Walter Ruddach, 87, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Newport (Wash.) United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Newport Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ruddach, who was born in Cusick, Wash., died Sunday.

He graduated from Newport High School in 1932 and married Maude Edwards in 1945.

Mr. Ruddach owned and operated the Fisher-Ruddach Car Dealership from 1945 to 1970.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, United Church of Christ and served as president and lieutenant governor of the Newport Kiwanis.

Mr. Ruddach served on the Newport City Council for three terms.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Earle Ruddach of Spokane, Jim Ruddach of Seattle and Randy Ruddach of Vallejo, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Charles `Jim’ Peone Ford, Wash.

Wake for Charles D. “Jim” Peone, 52, will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit, Wash. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the longhouse. Burial will follow at Hubert Cemetery in Ford. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Stevens County resident, Mr. Peone died Saturday. He was born in Fruitland, Wash.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Stevens County Public Works Department for many years.

He was a member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Samuels-Peone; four children, Jesse Davis, John Seyler, Samuel Seyler and Scarlett Samuels, all at the home; three sisters, Darlene Garett and Monica Hunter, both of Fruitland, and Ora Wolf of Pendleton, Ore.; five brothers, Delbert Kirby of Fruitland, Melvin and Bud Peone, both of Wellpinit, Monte Peone of Ohio and Adrian Erickson of Marcus, Wash.
