Lawrence Lynch Clark Fork, Idaho
Service for Lawrence Duane Lynch, 70, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Coffelt’s Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Clark Fork Cemetery.
Mr. Lynch, who was born in Asotin, Wash., died Sunday.
He worked as farmhand during his high school years in Asotin and graduated in 1948. He then worked as a lumber grader at Potlatch Forest Inc.
In 1949 Mr. Lynch married ViAnn Santa. In 1955 he moved to Anacortes, Wash., where he worked for the Anacortes Fire Department.
He divorced in 1958 and moved to Clarkston, Wash. He worked for Lewiston Grange Supply and was also a fireman for the Asotin County Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Lynch married Eunice Woods in 1964 and was co-owner of Sunny Valley Ranch, an egg ranch in Clarkston.
In 1967 he moved to the Lewiston Plant of Washington Water Power and worked as a utility operator. In 1974 he moved to Clark Fork, where he was a powerhouse operator at Cabinet Gorge Dam.
Mr. Lynch retired in 1994. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; four children, Karen Davis of Pullman, Connie Morrow of Clarkston, Judy Holman of Bellingham and Larry Lynch of Clark Fork; two brothers, Harold Lynch of Arlington, Wash., and Robert Lynch of Uniontown, Wash.; two sisters, Marjorie Wilson of Clarkston and Edna Mills of California; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lewis Jones Coeur d’Alene
Private service for Lewis Jones, 76, will be held at a later date. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones, who was born in Evansville, Ind., died Friday.
He served with the Navy during World War II and moved to Bellingham in 1955.
Mr. Jones moved to Coeur d’Alene in the mid-1970s and married Eleanor Culp in 1974 and worked as a lineman in power line construction. He also was a tree trimmer.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; two daughters, Francis Sweitzer of Ferndale, Wash., and Juanita Young of Camano Island, Wash.; two stepchildren, Jean Powell and Jerry Freeman, both of California; a sister, Sharon Bolich of Post Falls; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jennifer Myrvang Priest River, Idaho
Memorial service for Jennifer Dee Myrvang, 48, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
A 34-year Priest River resident, Mrs. Myrvang died last Wednesday.
She was born in Spokane, and in 1969 she graduated from Rogers High School.
Mrs. Myrvang drove a school bus for Bonner County public schools. She also worked for Mitchell’s IGA between routes and during summers.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Best and Robin Carlson, both of Priest River, and Rhonda Eash of Post Falls; her mother, Lois Whetham of Spokane; two sisters, Judith Hayes and Janice Myrvang, both of Spokane; and two grandsons.
Henry Roush Spokane
Graveside service for Henry E. Roush, 88, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 29-year Spokane resident, Mr. Roush died Sept. 22. He was born in Nooksack, Wash.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Roush worked as a plant operator for hydroelectric power on the Grand Coulee Dam.
He was a member of the American Legion in Electric City, Wash., and was a founding member and builder of the Coulee Dam (Wash.) Community Church.
His wife, Frances, died in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Roush Jr. of Antelope, Calif., and James Roush of Fairfield, Calif.; two brothers, Wilbur and Lyle Roush; a granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.
Merlyn Staples Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Merlyn L. Staples, 99, will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene. A reception will follow at the church. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Staples, who was born in Columbia City, Ind., died Thursday.
He grew up in Columbia City and joined the Marines prior to finishing high school and served for the duration of World War I. Mr. Staples returned to Columbia City after the war and finished his high school education and then attended Wabash College in Indiana and was captain of the football team.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree from Wabash and then received a master’s degree from Stanford University.
Mr. Staples taught school for 40 years in Indiana and worked as a ranger in Glacier National Park, during the summers.
He settled in the Coeur d’Alene area in 1980. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Post Falls American Legion Post 143 and the Pappy Boyington Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
Mr. Staples was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenna Knepper of Coeur d’Alene.

Ruby Lapp Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Ruby Lapp, 87, will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Little Baptist Church in Plummer, Idaho. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lapp, who was born in Gatesville, Texas, died Saturday.
She married Frederick Lapp in 1944 and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lapp moved to Plummer eight years ago and recently moved to Coeur d’Alene.
Her husband died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Leonard Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Marjorie Darby of The Dalles, Ore., Darlene Davies of Montesano, Wash., and Patsy Lapp; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Martin Sheldon Spokane
Memorial service for Martin L. Sheldon, 35, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Church of The Open Door. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Sheldon died last Wednesday.
He was self-employed as a disc jockey.
He is survived by his father, Robert Sheldon; two brothers, Skip and Ed Sheldon; and four sisters, Diane Moories, Sherrie Johnson, Sandy Beach and Terri Roche.
Imogene Boyer Spokane
Private memorial service for Imogene “Jean” Boyer, 63, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rock Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 20-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Boyer died Sunday. She was born in Carbondale, Pa.
She worked as a reproductive typist for aerospace industries.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Nairine of Spokane and Daniel Boyer of Germany; a sister, Margaret Roche of Kissimmee, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
June Triplett Spokane
Visitation for June E. Triplett, 83, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairmount Memorial park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Triplett died Sunday.
She worked as an operator for local dry cleaners.
Her husband of 54 years, Grady Triplett, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Harry Pearson of Minneapolis; and three sisters, Virginia Watts and Gerald Henker, both of Spokane, and Carolyn Bates of Seattle.

William `Bill’ Topps Coeur d’Alene
Visitation for William F. “Bill” Topps, 75, will be today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Vigil service will be today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene with burial to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Mr. Topps, who was born in Chicago, died Saturday. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and flew 52 missions. He received five Bronze Stars.
He married Adeline Bojarski in 1945 and lived in Chicago and California. He moved to Coeur d’Alene after his 1989 retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Thomas Catholic Church, where he volunteered at the Comet Kitchen. He also was active with the Lake City Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Adeline; three daughters, Paulette Gaffney and Carol Nell, both of Coeur d’Alene, and Pamela Doran of Riverside, Calif.; two sons, Bill Topps of Coeur d’Alene and Bob Topps of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Thomas Coeur d’Alene
Visitation for Ethel L. Thomas, 98, will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden (Idaho) Chapel. Service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hayden Chapel with a reception to follow at the Hayden Chapel Gathering Center.
Mrs. Thomas, who was born in Missouri, died Saturday.
She grew up and attended school in Missouri and was the organist for Mount Pisgah Baptist Church there.
Mrs. Thomas married Charles Thomas in 1920. In 1929 she moved to Kellogg, where she later worked as a housekeeper.
In 1942 she moved to Coeur d’Alene and continued working as a housekeeper at various hotels and motels in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane. She retired in 1975.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Coeur d’Alene First Baptist Church.
Her husband died in 1958.
Survivors include two daughters, Erlene Flaget of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, and Betty Selle of North Dakota; a half-sister, Eve Lee Perrigo of Missouri; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Samuel Dyen Spokane
Vigil service for Samuel Dyen, 89, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Otis Orchards. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dyen, who was born in Philadelphia, died Thursday. He was a Spokane resident for over 60 years.
He entered the Army in 1938. Once out of the service, he worked at Brownie Baking Co. and the Spokane Flour Mill.
He returned to active duty in 1960 and served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany for six years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Moose and Eagles lodges. He was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America in the United States and Germany.
Fay, his wife of 54 years, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; a son, Fred Dyen of Fairbanks, Alaska; two daughters, Peggy Tamblyn of Spokane and Phyllis Foster of Central Point, Ore.; a stepson, John Warner of Washington, D.C.; a stepdaughter, Laurie Hanlon of Deer Park; a brother, Isador Dyen of Oahu, Hawaii; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ella (Winder) Founds Blanchard, Idaho
Graveside inurnment for Ella Berniece (Winder) Founds, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blanchard Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Founds, who was born in Iona, Idaho, died Saturday.
She married Eugene Founds in 1929, and they worked as refrigeration contractors.
In 1956 they moved to Blanchard.
Mrs. Founds and her husband divorced after 34 years of marriage.
She worked as a cook at several resorts. She later leased a hotel in Newport, where she cooked and performed maid services.
Mrs. Founds sold the hotel and moved near her son, Gene.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Basic Club in Blanchard.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Founds of Blanchard, Boyd Founds of Lewiston and Doyle Founds of Seattle; two brothers and three sisters, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Maggie Arnzen Spokane
Funeral Mass for Maggie Arnzen, 45, will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Church in Ferdinand, Idaho. Burial will follow at the Ferdinand Community Cemetery. Uhlorn Funeral Home in Cottonwood, Idaho, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Arnzen, who was born in Glendale, Calif., died Sunday.
She attended school at LaCrescenta, Calif., graduating from Crescenta High School in 1971.
She worked for Blue Cross and later for Haney Air Conditioning in Los Angeles.
After moving to Spokane, she worked for Saw Chain, later moving to Lewiston and working for Oxarc for the past 15 years.
She was a member of Assumption Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed time with family, cross stitching, bowling, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Randy of Ferdinand; two sons, Airis Cerecedes of Seattle and Lucas Arnzen of Ferdinand; a brother, David Young of Burbank, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Schulte of Spokane.

Allison Towne Spokane
No services will be held for Allison H. Towne, 86, at his request. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 24-year Spokane resident, Mr. Towne died Saturday. He was born in Cashmere, Wash.
He worked as a diesel mechanic in the mining industry for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy; a son, John Towne of Kellogg; two daughters, Pat Doten of Spokane and Penny Price of Umatilla, Ore.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
