Dobias Achievements

More than 200 million pounds of honey is produced in the United States each year, according to the National Honey Board.

And for the past 15 years, some of the finest in the country has come from tiny Dobias Apiaries in Spokane. Along with a mild raw clover honey, Dobias offers such specialties as a silky-smooth yellow star thistle, a rich, creamy acacia blossom and a dark, robust buckwheat.

Price: Raw clover, about $2 per pound in bulk, or packaged for about $2.50 to $3 per pound; specialty honey prices vary.

Available: At most health food stores in and around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, and at several fruit stands in Green Bluff.
