The Original Espresso
Northwesterners may think they know a thing or two about espresso, but they’re still virtual newcomers compared to the Italians.
The top-selling coffee in Italy comes from a 104-year-old company called Lavazza, which has half of the country’s domestic market. One of its finest offerings is Qualita Oro, a sweet, smooth, medium-bodied blend of aromatic Arabica coffees from Central America and Africa.
After all, 12 million Italians can’t be wrong.
Price: $7.59 for 8.8 ounces of ground coffee.
Available: In Spokane at Cassano’s Italian Foods, 314 E. Sprague (747-3888).
