Wastewater Master Plan Before Council
City Council members will continue to discuss the adoption of the city’s wastewater master plan tonight.
The plan, engineered by Jim Kimball, takes into account Post Falls’ population growth and the infrastructure of the wastewater system.
The research provides information to the city about how to build a system for a growing community, as well as the construction and design of future water lines. The plan also includes guidelines for upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant and its collection system.
User fees, set by City Council members, will finance the wastewater treatment plant and collection system’s daily operation and maintenance costs, according to the plan. The fees also will establish a capital reserve fund to replace existing equipment as needed.
If operational costs increase, the proposed plan calls for higher fees.
