Sheriff To Stress Communication

Larry Dasenbrock takes over as Idaho County’s sheriff Jan. 8, after winning the election from Gene Meinen by just seven votes.

Dasenbrock said communication will be a central theme in his new department.

He wants to hold regular town hall meetings in towns throughout the large county and have officers involved in school programs. The new sheriff also wants to create a Web site where the public can be updated daily on happenings in the sheriff’s office.

“I’m going to take the law enforcement to the people,” he said.
