Ervin’S Free Throws Complete Ccs’S Comeback
The first 39 minutes and 48 seconds belonged to Yakima Valley on Wednesday night.
But the game went in the win column for the Community Colleges of Spokane.
Andre Ervin hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to lift CCS to a 77-76 win over Yakima Valley at Spokane Community College.
The Sasquatch never led until Ervin’s free throws. James Kiger’s defense forced Yakima Valley’s Ryan Skinner into a tough final shot that missed.
Skinner and Andrew Twiss combined for 42 points for the Indians.
CCS entered the night one-half game behind Yakima Valley and Wenatchee Valley for first place in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community College’s East Division.

CCS 62, Yakima Valley 48 Amy George scored 17 of her 20 points in the first half, guiding the Sasquatch over the Indians at SCC.
Bernice Stime of the Sasquatch added 10 points and four rebounds in the second half. Yakima Valley pulled within eight points with 7 minutes left, but CCS stopped the surge.
The Sasquatch entered the night one-half game behind first-place Wenatchee Valley in the NWAACC East Division.
