Another Candidate Joins Sheriff’S Race

Another candidate has entered the race for Boundary County sheriff.

Geoff Palmer, 54, a retired Anchorage Police Department officer has announced his intention to run for sheriff as a Republican. Palmer has lived in Boundary County for 1 years.

“I want to change the sheriff’s office up here,” said Palmer. “I want it to be a sheriff’s department people can rely on and be proud of.”

George Voyles, a sergeant with the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department, also is running as a Republican. Voyles, 54, has been with the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department since 1991.

Sheriff Greg Sprungl, who has been sheriff since 1994, plans to run for re-election on the Democrat ticket.
