Boat Collision Sends One Man Overboard

From Staff Reports

Two boats collided near Honeysuckle Beach on Monday afternoon, sending a man overboard.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the beach around 4:45 p.m. A bass boat appeared to have hit another boat just off the docks, witnesses said.

Boater Tom Fellows said he was pulling his boat into the docks and was hit from the side. The crash threw Brian Pratt, 18, into the water. Pratt was taken to Kootenai Medical Center to treat bruises on his leg.

“We were coming into the dock and all of the sudden he was on top of the boat,” Fellows said. “Praise God, it could have been worse.”

The investigation is continuing.
