St. Joe Camps Shut For Maintenance

From Staff

The U.S. Forest Service is announcing several temporary closures at recreation sites in the St. Joe Ranger District.

The Spruce Tree campground will be closed from June 8 through June 16 for maintenance and tree removal.

The Upper Landing picnic area is closed for construction, due to reopen in mid-summer.

The Cedar Creek campground will be closed until later summer or fall as crews replace tables, fire rings and grills and improve roads and paths. If funding holds out, visitors will also see three new picnic tables.

Only lower elevation trails on the district are snow-free, but hikers may encounter trees across those trails.
