Priest River Man Dies During Baseball Game
A Priest River man died at Quad Park during a baseball game Monday night.
Kootenai County Emergency Medical Services responded to the ball park at about 9 p.m., said Chief Mike Williams.
Greg Jones, a prosecuting attorney in Priest River, suffered from a possible heart attack, according to Williams. Bystanders were already performing CPR on Jones when emergency services arrived. Jones was taken to Kootenai Medical Center.
Jones, 52, was on the River City Enterprises 45-and-older team.
“It was really a shock, I’ll tell you. Everyone couldn’t believe it,” said Dick Thompson, the team’s sponsor.
Thompson said Jones was complaining of shortness of breath earlier.
