Wrist-Saving Risotto

Risotto, the creamy Italian rice dish, may be one of the most comforting foods around. But the constant simmering and stirring called for in traditional recipes can drive you stir crazy.

Enter Alessi risotto mixes, made with imported Italian arborio rice, which cook up in about 20 minutes with no stirring required. Along with the classic, saffron-spiked Risotto alla Milanese pictured here, there are porcini mushroom and sun-dried tomato versions.

So, you can have your risotto without causing a stir.

Price: About $2.50 for 8 ounces (makes about 3 cups).
