Post Falls Oks Year-Round Fireworks Sales
The City Council decided Tuesday that residents can buy or sell “safe and sane” fireworks throughout the year.
An ordinance passed Tuesday is similar to an Idaho state law passed in 1997.
The primary issues are where and how fireworks stands are located, and fire safety, wrote Jerry Mason, city attorney, in a memo to council members last month.
Previously, fireworks could only be sold between June 26 and July 6. The council voted last year that it would allow fireworks sales for New Year’s Eve 1999.
The Post Falls Fire District will now issue the permits to sell fireworks. The city issued permits in the past.
