Bonner County Voters Ok Library District

From Staff Reports

Voters in four west Bonner County precincts overwhelmingly approved the formation of a library district to serve the Priest River area.

According to unofficial final results, the West Bonner Library District passed with 77.3 percent of the vote, or 969 votes.

The district will levy taxes to support the library now funded through the City of Priest River. Library backers hope to operate a full-time library.

In another measure coinciding with the general election in Bonner County, voters in the north part of the county elected Louie Rich to the open Northside Fire District commissioner seat.

Rich edged out Rick Larkin with 134 votes to Larkin’s 112 votes. Both are volunteer firefighters.
