Episcopalians Plan Fund-Raiser
Five dollars will buy an evening of laughs and help Spokane’s Dr. Carole Denison build houses and treat patients in Honduras.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 501 Wallace Ave. in Coeur d’Alene, will host the third annual Episco-follies at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the church parish hall.
St. Luke’s men will dance a jazz number from “Cats.” Other parishioners will perform on the violin, recite and sing. One man adapted Gilbert and Sullivan’s lyrics: “We are the very model of today’s Episcopalians …” Intermission includes dessert. Denison has devoted 23 years to caring for Honduras’ poor. She built 17 homes for Hondurans devastated by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Donations from Spokane and Coeur d’Alene keep her work going.
Episcofollies tickets are $5 for adults, $2.50 for children or $12 for a family. For details, call 765-6526.
