Market report

The Spokesman-Review

Late summer sweetness has arrived. The Spokane Farmers’ Market is flush with truckloads of fresh corn on the cob. Green beans, summer squash, cucumbers, tomatoes are making an appearance at many markets. Berries are still strong, including huckleberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. Some tree-ripened peaches and nectarines are starting to appear. You can always pick up greens, spinach, peas, beets, carrots, onions and garlic. Also, look for Columbia Basin cantaloupe.
