Twins 5, White Sox 4 (10): At Chicago, Jacque Jones hit a go-ahead single in the 10th inning right after White Sox shortstop Jose Valentin dropped his foul popup with two outs, and Minnesota beat the Chicago to complete a three-game sweep. The Twins won for the 10th time in 12 tries and moved 3 1/2 games ahead of the White Sox in the Central.

Orioles 4, Red Sox 1: At Baltimore, Dave Borkowski took a two-hitter into the eighth inning, and Javy Lopez hit two homers off Curt Schilling to lead the Orioles past Boston.

Devil Rays 10, Royals 1: At St. Petersburg, Fla., former Washington State University left-hander Mark Hendrickson gave up just four hits in his second complete game in three starts and Tampa Bay handed Kansas City its sixth straight loss.

Blue Jays 3, Yankees 2 (10): At Toronto, Vernon Wells homered in the 10th inning and Carlos Delgado had a tying RBI double in the eighth to lead the Blue Jays over New York.

Indians 5, Tigers 4: At Cleveland, Scott Elarton won for the first time in 18 starts, and Casey Blake’s two-run homer in the seventh inning sent the Indians to a win over Detroit. Blake had three RBIs for Cleveland (52-50), which is two games over .500 for the first time since April 27, 2002, when the Indians were 13-11.

Angels 2, Rangers 0: At Anaheim, Calif., Troy Percival earned his 300th career save and John Lackey allowed three hits over 81/3 innings, leading the Angels to a victory over Texas. Percival became the 18th member of the 300-save club.
