Grace Lutheran to dedicate reburbished organ at concert

Grace Lutheran Church, 1827 E. Pacific Ave., is celebrating the renovation and dedication of its pipe organ with a concert Sunday at 1 p.m.

After more than 80 years of use at church, built in 1922, the organ’s console finally needed replacing. A new console was brought to Spokane from California.

Local organist Phillip Larson completed the work and agreed to perform at the dedication ceremony.

Larson has performed in several churches in Spokane and in the Seattle area and owns Washington Pipe Organ Service, which cares for pipe organs in Washington, Idaho and Montana. He also refurbished the organ at Lewis and Clark High School.

The concert will follow the church’s regular Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. There will be a light lunch in the basement after the service.
